2010 is over, but looking back......it was a really great year!!! I had the opportunity to continue to photograph some of my favorite little ones (and big ones) and lots of new wonderful people as well. :) So many precious little ones that I photographed from birth, graduated the baby plan this year. Talk about putting time in to perspective! I see so many of your babies grow and I realize that my own kiddos are that much bigger too. I'm so happy that I can help you to preserve milestones and make lasting memories for your families.

As much as I love photographing your little ones and making memories with you.....I will have to scale back on appts this year and put more focus on my little ones. We've had a bit of a shift in child care and I am going to have to restructure my time. These changes will help me to serve those with schedules that correspond with mine and to be able to spend much needed time with my own family. I am a mom to 3 beautiful children and they come first. :) This means that my latest session on weekdays will most likely be 2:00 or 2:30 so that I can get my son off of the bus. Once time changes in the spring and it stays brighter longer in the afternoon......I will be able to do location sessions in Gonzales starting at 4:30. Because of the shift in our child care and my husband working weekends, Saturday appts will be extremely limited. Possibly only 1 a month.

For the past several years, I've been operating solely and completely on my own. I handle everything, from the inital contact to me placing your order in your hands. In the last year, I have had a hard time keeping up! Contacts and replies, sessions, proofing, ordering, accounting, websites, facebook, blogs, design work, maitenance......phew......it can all be very overwhelming. I also have to raise little ones and find time for a little rest! While it's extremely exciting to be sought out by so many wonderful people for sessions, I had to realize that I am only ONE person and it is next to impossible to handle all requests. I hope that this year those that choose me to capture their memories will be looking to build a relationship and realize that we are a match with the same vision.

I initially started this business because I had a great love for photography (always have) and also to have a more flexible schedule to spend time with my children. I have been swayed and jaded from both of those reasons in the last couple of years, but I have faith that I will be able to get back on track. :)

When considering a photographer, I know that costs plays an important role in the process....BUT, some other important things to consider are: Style and vision......does your taste mesh with the artist? If you view my website (or any photographer's for that matter) and feel moved and long to have similar, but personable images, then you are most likely a great match! If you view my work (really thinking you might prefer a different style), but pricing is the driving factor ..........you may want to continue to look for someone more suitable for you. You should ask yourself if you want to have a friendly and trustworthy relationship with the photographer? The person that you choose from birth to photograph your baby can build a very important relationship with your family. Your photographer should make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. :) They should be engaging and loveable to your little ones!!!! All of this helps in creating fabulous images to cherish for a lifetime.

So, my new blog is sort of on hold.......I'm hoping to work with a fabulous designer for some new branding. ;) So there's the hold up. I'm excited that it's even in the works though.

Okay, some things to think on:

LSU (and possibly Saints pics)......I'm thinking September 4th or 11th. Not sure which one just yet, but I hope to know real soon and then I'll send out the email. ;)

Fall/Halloween special........hopefully on October 9th.

Christmas special and any regular sessions that may result in Christmas card ordering MUST be done, proofed and ordered prior to Thanksgiving week. So......more than likely, the Christmas special will be done on November 12, 13 and 15th.

Regular sessions will only be available for weekdays in the month of November.

I've totally been neglecting my blog haven't I? I have so many things to keep up with lately.....my blog is on the "back burner".
So, I'll try to catch everyone up. Welcome to 2010. :) Business is back to normal! I've been busy graduating many of my baby plan members from last year. Sniff Sniff....it's kind of like watching my own children turning one again. And with those that have turned one....a whole new babies have been born. :)
Aside from my wee little ones.........I've had the pleasure of photographing 3 beautiful SEN10R girls, including the one gracing the top of my blog. Wow....what a true beauty! I'll be posting more from these sessions later.

Ha...what can I say...it's a very busy time of year for me. :) If you are waiting on Christmas proofs.....hang tight. I should have them all up by tomorrow. Once I'm done with the Christmas special pics, then I'll move on to the regular sessions done last week. Keep in mind that just as the title says....I'm proofing pics, creating collages and Christmas cards, placing orders and all the while doing more sessions. For those of your waiting on proofs or orders, I'm sorry for the delay. I was on vacation last weekend and then I had 2 sick little ones when I returned. Then, my great grandmother passed away Thursday morning. My family is grieving and burying her today was one of the hardest days of our lives.

New Prices

The new prices are finally in place. If you have an upcoming session, you will be effected by the price change. Please review the new pricing for the session fees and basic prints. Contact me via email for package pricing changes.

Regular Studio Session Fees - $80/hr. (weekday) or $100/hr. (Saturday)
Location Session Fees - $90/hr. (weekday) or $110/hr. (Saturday)
*Fees cover up to four people per session. Add $10 to fees for each additional person. Fees are for the time and talent of the photographer only. Prints sold separately. Due to the custom work relative to the portraiture by Jacé B., there is a minimum purchase requirement of $200 per session. This fee is due up front as a deposit. There will be a travel fee of $25 for sessions outside of Ascension Parish. This fee covers time, gas and mileage. All fees are due at the start of the session. Full payment is required when placing orders. Cash, Check, Visa, and Mastercard accepted.

I have a few spaces left for the Halloween/Fall session and then only a couple left for Christmas for Friday and Monday only. All Saturday spaces have been filled.

Christmas card templates should be posted in the next day or two.

I am no longer accepting new clients for the remainder of the year (unless booking for the specials). I don't have any Saturday availability left for the remainder of the year. I have only about 1 or 2 appts for regular clients left in November (weekdays and time specific). Scheduling Session & Updates

I just wanted to give everyone an update. I have very few weekday spots left at the end of August. Please contact me as soon as possible if you are interested, because these spots will go fast.

I'm now booking September and October.

It's officially the peak season!!!! Holiday's are right around the corner. I'm also starting to book Senior sessions for 2010.

I will be doing an LSU special on August 28th and 29th. Please email me if you are interested at jace.babin@cox.net to reserve your appt time.

I will also be doing a Halloween/Fall special sometime at the beginning of October. I'll have more information on that later.

Christmas specials and Christmas regular sessions will be taken care of in November. My deadline for all Christmas orders for regular prints and Christmas cards will be December 1st!!!!!! No exceptions.

I'm going to be perfectly honest in saying that Saturday appts will be very hard to come by for the remainder of the year due to specials, holidays, etc.

If you are expecting a newborn in the upcoming months, please email me now with your due dates so that we can reserve a spot for you. Once you are closer to your due date and have more information from your dr. regarding scheduling/induction then we can get a more definite plan together.

I just want to let everyone know, that I am working very hard to launch a new website. So be on the look out for it in the near future!

A couple of things:

Starting back with a bang I tell ya! I'm booking up for the remainder of this month and already booking into the spring. Please contact me via email to reserve appointment dates and times. I'll be the first one to admit.......I'm an email or a text girl. Phone conversations don't happen very easily for me. I'm either in a session, or I'm with my little ones........who really don't let me have adult conversation. :)

Spring/Easter Pictures.........Yes, I do plan on running a special for Spring/Easter pictures. This will probably take place the last week in March or the first few days in April. I'll post more information on that special real soon.

New Header Image........the sweet baby boy on my new header image belongs to my best friend. Isn't he a doll? Congratulations to my bff and her hubby. They have a beautiful blessing. I will be photographing him as often as possible. His images will be showcased on my new website coming soon! I would also like to ad that the fabulous blanket he is "modeling" is from Lil Hugs N Kisses Boutique in Prairieville. I LOVE this blanket. It's made by hand and with love. The end of 2008

We are drawing near to the close of another year. Say farewell to 2008!!!! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. I look how fast my children have grown and it makes me want to stop time. I also see how fast all of your children grow as I capture their milestones and it really is something remarkable.

I want to thank all of my wonderful clients for making memories with me this year. I have been so blessed to meet so many new people and have made many new friends.

I was thinking of all the special things that have happened this year and there are several things that I'm thankful for. I am so thankful for my new studio! It has made a tremendous difference in my workflow!!! But I am most thankful for my wonderful family for putting up with the endless hours it takes to run a photography business and loving me all the same.

I have received so many compliments this year from many of you regarding my work and the images that I produce for your families.................those compliments let me know exactly why I'm doing this, how much I love it and why it's all worth it. I hope to continue to bring you images that touch your hearts they way they touch mine.

Christmas was wonderful for my family. I hope that you and yours had just the same. Here are a couple of images taken during the holidays.

We started making photo jewelry together for ourselvesand because we have gotten so many compliments on our own necklaces......I decided to start offering to my clients. Pricing on jewelry will vary based on necklace length and gemstones chosen. The necklaces below are made with blackstone, onyx chips and pewter/silver charms. Photos can be bw or color. Chose your favorite image from your latest session for your original necklace. Then swap your charm out whenever you like with a newer image for a small transfer fee.

I will be doing Christmas mini sessions on Friday (Nov. 14th) and Saturday (Nov. 15th). No sitting fees and package start at $95.

Mini sessions will take place at the studio for up to 25 minutes. You will have up to 5 proofs available in color and black & white to view in a private album online. All orders must be turned in by November 24, 2008 to have in time for holidays. You will be notified when your order is ready via email or telephone in order to schedule a pick up time.
Additional portraits from these sessions can be purchased a la Carte at 15% off regular print prices.

I will be scheduling regular sessions (newborns, children, families – indoor or location) on weekdays throughout the month of November for Christmas as well. Regular session fees apply. Minimum order of $150 required due to the custom nature of the session. Gorgeous flat (double sided) press printed Christmas cards can be purchased at a discounted rate of $50/25 with your regular session during the month of November.
If you have images from a previous session that you want to use for Christmas cards, they will be regular price.

Hello everyone. It's that time of year.....the weather is turning a little cooler and it's almost time for trick or treat! Before we know it....Santa will be on his way!!! I have received several emails and calls regarding Halloween/Fall and Christmas specials. To answer everyone's question......YES I will be offering these specials this year. So get those costumes and outfits now.....don't delay! :) I will be posting more information in regards to the dates and time for scheduling real soon!!!! Halloween/Fall sessions will most likely be done the 3rd Saturday of October. Regular Christmas sessions will be done through the month of November and I will run a Christmas Special (Mini-Sessions) during November as well. All Christmas card orders will be submitted by December 1st, 2008.

So........we went a week without power after Gustav ripped through our area. When we started hearing the reports from Entergy that we would be without power for up to 4 weeks......I packed up my babies and went to North Alabama to visit with my in-laws. We were blessed and power was back on much sooner than expected. I have been playing catch up all week long. And right when I was starting to get back on track.......good ole' Ike had to show his face. We lost power again Friday at 2:30 am and it was off until Friday afternoon. I don't know if it was all the praying I did, but the power never went off again through the night. So.......I am going to try to get back to business as usual. I hope everyone made it through the storms okay. I know we are all ready to just get back to normal!

I haven't announced any dates yet, but I had every intention of doing LSU pictures at the beginning of this month. Something told me to hold off.....and my instincts were right. I still want to do a special, so I am planning on doing LSU pics next Saturday, September 20th. If you are interested, please contact me for an appt. asap as spaces will be limited.

This will be a mini session (15 minutes) special with one outfit. No sitting fees, several packages available, photographer chooses best pose for package.

So, I get request quite often for wedding work, but I had to come to terms with the fact that with small children I just don't have the time to devote to them right now. Once my children are a little older.....I hope to be able to book them again. I am still booking BRIDE, BRIDE/GROOM and Engagement sessions.

In the mean time, I still have family and friends that wed.......so of course, I will try to make them a priority for this type of work!
Here is my lovely cousin, Diana. What a gorgeous bride. We had loads of fun doing this season in the smouldering HEAT about a month and a half ago! She is a "vogue queen" and totally works the camera! I didn't want to share these until after her wedding date.......so that I wouldn't spoil
the surprise of her beauty and her dress! Diana married Dusty on 8-8-08........so here comes the bride!!!!

Back from Vacation

Well, I'm back from vacation and I haven't stopped since........ I hope that everyone is doing well and having a great summer.
So.....I've recently been posting several lovely family images from different client sessions. I am totally jealous and I had my mind set on taking a family image of my own. It's a shame, but we haven't taken one since Beau was 6 months old, so that means....no family pic with Bella. So for our family vacation I had high hopes & expectations that I would get a shot or two on the beach!!!! I should have known that my son would make the task at hand difficult.
So here's what we ended up with........BLOOPERS and all.....I guess the photographer is just going to have to settle for a funny family picture!!!! I do want to thank my father in law for being brave enough to hold my camera in order to capture the family shots!!!! Technically, not that bad. Ha Ha

It really is almost move in time!!!! In fact, I got the word from Entergy today that the power should be on by early next week. Thank goodness!!!!

I just wanted to give a quick update to let you all know that I have been extremely busy with trying to get this thing up and running. If I haven't been as quick to return your emails or calls, I sincerely apologize. I will continue to work as diligently as possible to stay on top of responses to appt. inquiries, orders, etc.

I have also been experiencing some email problems and I hope that they will be resolved ASAP!!!

I have to congratulate a couple of little beauty queens!!!! I am so proud of my girls. My daughter, Bella, won Baby Miss Gonzales Jambalaya!!!! Yeah Queen B! Mommy and daddy were so proud. My little cousin, Ava, placed 1st in the Petite Miss division and won the fashion award. And my godchild, Tara, took it all. She is the reigning Deb Miss Gonzales Jambalaya Queen. Okay, here's the latest picture of the studio! I'm getting really excited now! Things started to move really quickly and they are telling me that we have approx. 5 more weeks. I think we will be ready by mid May. We'll just keep our fingers crossed!

I returned home from vacation to find the framers working on the studio!!!! Working came to a hault when we lost power for over 2 hours yesterdy due to the rain. Hopefully they will continue to work the rest of the week to finish all the walls. Here is a quick snap of the progress.
